Enquiry about attempted suicide

Is Attempted suicide of a 40-45 year old father with a single girl-child. With signs of mental instabilty a punishable offense? If so, what might be the punishment in terms of years or fine?

it very difficult to answer your query at the very outright . the concerned person whom you are claiming to have attempted suicide under mental condition will first b thoroughly examined by a government doctor for further treatment and once he's in s stable condition he shall definitely b put under trial to examine whether he was under stress or not while making an attempt to suicide and if found guilty he shall b punished as per prevailing law in India. for further detailed consultation u may contact an Advocate. see just attempting to end your life won't attract any Penal procedure. just that you would need counseling. atmost the court on application can appoint a protection officer for the girl child for her safety and up bringing
