The police cannot give regular bail after arrest in a cognizable offense. They may sometimes release a person before arrest, but once arrested, only a court can grant bail. To get bail from the court, you need a lawyer to file the application and represent you, as the process requires legal knowledge and court procedures.

Greetings of the day In the cognizable offence the police gives bail at the police station only, known as police bail but the investigation goes on till the charges are not compounded or FIR is quashed. There is no need of lawyer as such on this stage, you need a witness with his adhaar card to get the bail. Thank you

It depends whether the offence is bailable or non-bailable. In cases of bailable offences one can get a bail from the police station by furnishing a bail bond, but it is highly recommended to be accompanied with a lawyer so that you can get guidance, expedite the process and safeguard you from any illicit practices which might occur during the whole process and in non-bailable offences you have to go through the court process which requires an advocate.

In cognizable offences, bail from the police station is possible only if the offence is bailable. In such cases, you may approach the police directly, but having a lawyer ensures correct paperwork, compliance with legal formalities, and protection of your rights. For non-bailable offences, you must apply for bail before the court, where legal representation is almost always necessary to present your case effectively. I specialise in criminal law and can assist you in securing bail at the earliest.

Cognizable offense are those offense where police can arrest without warrant. In case of cognizable offense, Police can give you bail if it bailable offense and involment of lawyer is not necessary and if cognizable offense is non bailable in nature then you have to approach court for Bail and in that case involvement of lawyer is necessary .
