Q: Obtaining a legal heir certificate

I need to apply for a legal heir certificate. Myself residing in India and my bro who is a US citizen are the 2 legal heirs. For obtaining a legal heir certificate, Proof of ID and Address is a must. I have my Aadhaar as proof of ID and address.My bro has sent copy of his American Passport showing his name/address/photograph. The copy has even been notarised in US. Can i upload them as his proof of ID/address? Is it acceptable?

GreetingsYes, the documents of your brother who resides in US and has notarised are acceptable.But he can not be the legak heir if the property is agricultural/farm/plantation land.He does not want to be physically be present, you can make power of attorney.Also, it is advised to attest the documents with the Indian Embassy. Every state has their own requirement of documents

Q: Summon from Rashtriya Lok Adalat

I got a summon on plain paper by the Rashtriya Lok Adalat for missing my 2 months' payments on my credit card. This is after multiple conversations with the concerned bank. I am not sure if it is authentic even though a date has been given to appear. The letter is not on the letterhead. The number of the official is not associated with the bank. How do i know if it is actually correct or not?

We can understand your griefTo check the authenticity of the document there are several factors based in which it is checked.It is better to share the document so that the it is check.But it does not really happen that false summons are issued.Thank you

Q: Expected divorce case and alimony expectations

Hello , I m a 42 year old Hindu male IT professional living in delhi. My CTC is 36 lacs. And my current assets are 40 lacs( bank FDs ). During the last few years I transferred a good portion of my income to my father, mother and brother' bank accounts.( some 2 -3 years ago). I married 7 months ago.I have some disagreements with my wife, if my wife files matrimonial cases against me. Then how much amount I may be needed to pay to her ( minimum and maximum best ESTIMATE) . We can understand your griefIf you have a feeling that your wife can file a divorce case with other criminal cases (commonly practiced by wives) then you shall have a first mover approach and file a divorce petition in court stating the facts and circumstances. By this you can dodge the hefty amount of alimony if your wife demands it.Thank you
