Hi there, if you have no representative in India then in that case your lawyer should be given POA to represent you but the lawyer after receiving POA won't be able to represent you in court for arguments. For arguments in court you will need another lawyer. In short you will need two lawyers to do your work if no family/friend is available in india. Since, Dlsa is for needy people and has a lot of burden thus they won't provide you with two lawyers for that you'll have to hire a private lawyer to be your representative and Dlsa lawyer to do your arguments. It will be cost effective and will get your work done. It's advisable to contact me and provide more details to assist you better.

You just need to sign the vakalatnama that will give your counsel the authority to act on your behalf. And as far as the physical presence is needed that will also be handled as the court here also works through VC. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

It would be necessary to appear in person or through POA(power of attorney) for filling of the matter and attending hearings before the Honourable court without this it is not possible to proceed with the matter. As we understand from your query that you want to pursue the matter criminal and civil both.

You need to explain the issues in detail for any legal advice. However if you hire any Private attorney then they can expedite the case & represent the case on your behalf. Also if you could confirm what steps have been taken so far?

DLSA generally does not allow representation by family or friends for verification, but they may consider exemptions in genuine cases. You may also ask them to process your application based on the documents already filed. If they still insist on physical presence, the only option may be to appoint a private advocate locally to pursue the matter without delay.
