Defamation and harassment issue for investment

My friend gave 45 lakhs for the investment with monthly ROI of 3% .I also invested 35 lakhs in Jaya Group.My friend is in Singapore NRI and hence money invested in my wife's name .Now the company cheated us and not paid the monthly interest and for our invested they have settled the UDS farm land which is not worth of our investment amount.Now my friend is not ready to take that land and wanted to return her amount. I am not in a condition to return the amount .
