05-Oct-2025 (In Criminal Law)
Police hv not yet filed Charge sheet not yet filed by police in court even after 9 months from incidence (suspected murder). They would instead file some other report to court. What could it be? Why are they not filing charge sheet? As already indicated, we hv not filed FIR so far.

If you have not filed an FIR how are you expecting a chargesheet to be filed in IPC, BNS or CrPC, BNSS an FIR is compulsory for chargesheet, if they have taken cognizance on their own write a detailed complaint letter explaining the facts and circumstances for your case and tell them to add you as a witness, if they have filed FIR there must be some grounds for FIR, what are that grounds

Well, if the concerned Police Station has not been filing Chargesheet, then either you file a case to expedite the Investigation if the case has got stuck due to some legal technicalities or shortage of man power (Police Personnels) in investigation or if you think, that, they are genuinely not filing chargesheet, you can file a case against the concerned IO.
