Chain Snatching Case and I don't want to be involved in this.

22-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi, In 2018 my chain was snatched and later criminals were arrested and I got my gold chain back. Now after 5 years I got summon to witness. This incident was happened in Bathinda, Punjab. And later I was told by police that they have recovered more gold chains from thieves. I do not want to go on these dates set by court as I don't want to be involved in this as it is very expensive and full of hassles, hence, kindly suggest how to get rid of this case?

You just need to attend the court proceedings only once to dispose of your evidence and after that you can always tell the court that you are not interested in pursuing the present case and kindly discharge me from the said case. And if you fail to attend the court dates then summons can convert into warrants. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

We advise You to kindly share the copy of the summons received from the court for our perusal. It seems that FIR was registered by you 5 years back and court has now summoned you to appear and depose in that case as a witness to the incident. If you dont need to go You may file an exemption application through a lawyer, however you need to appear once or twice to get Your evidence done. For further advise You may connect

The court must have issued summons to record your evidence which would include examination in chief and cross examination. there is no way around it. you would have to appear in court as stated otherwise magistrate will issue warrants to confirm your presence.
