Case on section 141 railway act

15-Aug-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I have recently charged with section 141 for chain pulling ,and I have paid fine to RPF personel an they have collected my name and ID details and they have asked to appear in court if they called. Does this case comes under criminal case and it will impact in my job prospects? Did the RPF police filed an FIR against me?

Section 141 of the Railways Act is a Criminal offence, but if you have paid the fine on the spot , it is generally treated as compounding and no further prosecution occurs . Usually, no FIR is registered if settled with fine , but your details may be recorded. Unless the court summons you, the matter is considered closed and should not affect most private job prospects ,however, for government jobs requiring police verification, you must truthfully disclose if asked. Consult a lawyer for further clarifications.

Chain pulling under Sec. 141 of the Railways Act is a minor criminal offence (petty case), usually disposed of by paying a fine. If you have paid the fine and obtained a receipt, the matter is typically compounded and closed without a full criminal trial. In such cases, an FIR is generally not registered; instead, an RPF case file is prepared for record. For most government/private jobs, it won’t affect prospects if it’s a one-time petty offence, but full disclosure is advised in applications to avoid suppression issues.

section 151 deals with offence for unnecessarily interfering with railway administration. Due to many scams, govt asked to levy fine on by court order. as it is civil wrong, , nothing will effect you. but it is advised that, you be appear with an advocate to the court for seeking mercy.
