Car Stolen/Not returned back, what can be done ?
06-Feb-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I had lent my car to My Grandson. But he failed to return it back even after giving notice 3 months back. Under what IPC section can i retrieve it back.
If you had lent the car to your grandson, it won't become a theft as you had lent the car with your consent. However, if your grandson is not returning the car, then you can file the cheating case against him and get back the car.
Do you have proper documents to prove that it is your car. Then take the copy of the same and file a compliant for theft at your jurisdictional police station against your grand son. Otherwise before proceeding to police station inform your grand son that you are going to file a complaint if he fails to return it within a week or whatever time which is convenient for you.

Ans: if it is given for usage without any condition, you can take possession physically. if there is cheating, you can file a cheating case against him or else you may give a complaint as it is lost/stolen.
