Can we stop my car emi without impact on cibil?

04-May-2023 (In Criminal Law)
My car is financed by sbi car loan. My car got stolen within 2 months of purchase and the fir is registered and the police is about to file the chargesheet as one accused is caught with only my car’s number plate not the vehicle. My question is that my car emi is deducting monthly but i have to wait untill the court judgement is declared. Is there any way by which i can hault the emi till the judgement of court?? I am paying emi for my lost vehicle.

You have the option to claim it from the insurance company from which you had obtained your own damage insurance policy for your stolen car. At the same time, you may intimate this to the concerned court, which is dealing with your said criminal case.

You need not pay the emi’s of the stolen property. You can always inform the bank officials about the loss along with the copy of the FIR and the order sheet of the court. And you should not wait till the final disposal of the case as it can take many months for the judgement. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.
