Can I file a complaint for threatened with death

I get threatened 2.5 year ago & that person is not in my contact even he didn't threatened me again should I file a complaint against him on based of WhatsApp chat
you can file. but it will always raise doubt in the judicial mind of the court as well as the police station that why you are filing this complaint after so long period, you will have to justify your reason for the delay in filing of your complaint. it will be a loose case for you. the accused if at all arrested will seek bail on the ground of delay of the F.I.R. so you will have to structure it properly

Based on the facts provided by you my answer would be yes, you may approach the Police Station having jurisdiction and give a complaint in writing that you've been threatened (although you've not disclosed what kind of threat that person has gave).
