Buyer of our home checked all the documents and then gave us token amount of 2 lac.we only have receipt of this payment.o written agreement is made. he started to ignore our calls after payment of token money.when we called his lawyer he told us that our property is disputed property n then don't want to buy.so I asked them to give in writing how our property is disputed property.then he sent us a notice and he mentioned that we have not provided him any documents so they want token money back otherwise they are going to claim right on our property. They even spread this rumors in the market to devalue our property.ow they have filed 420 case on us.can he claim that we have not provided him documents and our property is disputed after agreeing to buy after checking all documents?
Did you sign any document while accepting the token amount? Did he transfer the amount in your bank Or provided cash? ..
you should respond to the notice and should contest the case filed against you.

he can make any allegations against you before the court or police. you need to prove to the court that your documents are genuine and there isn't any dispute to start with. however, it's better to deduct some amount and return the token.
