You have acted properly while processing the Mudra loan eight years ago. The loan was fully repaid, and the bank enquiry already gave you a clean chit. The borrower’s present complaints are false and meant to harass you. Keep all records and enquiry papers safely. Inform your higher authorities again with full details and evidence. If he continues to send false complaints or legal notices, you can also file a police complaint for harassment and defamation. You have done nothing wrong, and the borrower’s actions have no legal value. Stay calm and follow official and legal steps for your protection.

Hi there, as you are the manager you must be having complete files of the loans. Based on the contents of the mail sent by him along with the contents of legal notices sent by him, cases of criminal intimidation, defamation, extortion etc. can be filed against him. All these coupled with the clean chit received in departmental enquiry you can make a good case against him. It's advisable to contact me and provide requisite details to assist you better.

From what you have described, the customer’s conduct amounts to harassment, false complaint making and misuse of legal process, especially since the loan was sanctioned through proper banking procedure, the loan has been fully repaid, and your bank conducted an internal enquiry and gave you a clean chit. Once an official enquiry has exonerated you, the customer has no legal basis to keep alleging that the loan was fake or unauthorised. Repeated complaints, legal notices and pressure tactics after closure of the issue can amount to criminal intimidation, defamation and harassment. You should first reply properly to the legal notice through a lawyer, enclosing the enquiry report or closure proof and clearly stating that the allegations are false and malicious. You can then file a police complaint for harassment, criminal intimidation and defamation under the applicable provisions of law. His repeated actions despite official clearance clearly indicate mala fide intention. You may also send a cease and desist legal notice directing him to stop making false complaints, failing which you will initiate criminal and civil proceedings. If his actions are damaging your reputation in the bank or affecting you professionally, you can file a civil suit seeking compensation for defamation and mental harassment. Since you are a woman living alone and under constant pressure, this aspect of harassment and mental cruelty should be specifically mentioned in your police complaint, as authorities generally take such repeated malicious conduct seriously when supported by enquiry findings. Ensure that you preserve all evidence, including the enquiry report or clean chit, all emails and letters sent by him, copies of the legal notice, and proof of full loan repayment. Once a competent authority has cleared you, continued false allegations can legally backfire on the complainant. In summary, you are not required to tolerate this behaviour. After the clean enquiry findings, his conduct clearly amounts to harassment and misuse of legal process, and both criminal complaint and legal action are legally maintainable against him.

Send One Strong Legal Notice (Through Advocate) Not emotional. Not defensive. Just firm. It should say: Loan was processed legally Account fully repaid Bank enquiry gave you clean chit (attach copy if possible) His allegations are false and defamatory He must stop all communication and complaints immediately Failing which, criminal and civil action will be taken
