Assistance with being an witness to a criminal case

21-Oct-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I have given my written testimony as an witness on an attempt to murder case for my ex boyfriend , an FIR was filed against him by a woman living in my building for a water dispute that lead to a fight between the lady, his son and my ex. Will I be denied a passport police verification if I am an witness or will I not be able to clear police verification for govt jobs . will it any way impact me negatively?

no not at all. you don't need to worry about the same as being a witness is not a crime and on this ground that you are a witness in a case you can't be devoid of any of your right

Hi,

Regarding your query- of whether it would affect you negatively.

Quite frankly, no. It will not impact your negatively as you are only a witness in a criminal proceeding providing your deposition ( Statement on oath before Court) . You are in fact assisting the criminal proceeding by providing your inputs. No case, no FIR , no arrest or warrants have been issued against you at any point and your deposition does not amount to a criminal record. There is nothing to worry about in this case.
