Asked to appear in Delhi Court although I moved to Pune to close FIR

28-Jan-2024 (In Criminal Law)
1. Bike stolen in 2015, FIR lodged and moved to Pune from Delhi. 2. Police recovered Bike in 2017. I told them I got claim. 3. In 2023, Court issued Warrant against me to appear in front of Court as PW. 5. Initially I appeared through Webex VC. Judge strictly asked to appear physically. 6. I appeared in Dec, 2023 in Dwarka Court but judge transferred. New judge was absent that day. 7. Next hearing date I was on VC I kept waiting but OLD judge marked absent. HOW TO CLOSE FIR IN DELHI FROM PUNE??

Greetings to you. The actual advice may differ after going through the complete Chargesheet and also the stage at which the trial is as of now. If it’s just a matter of theft, it could have been compounded at the initial stage itself before the MM court and you can also get this case quashed from High Court of Delhi. Since traveling could be a bit troublesome, our office can ensure that you aren’t required here. Do feel free to reach out in case you require any assistance from us. Regards.

you are required to appear in person so close the FIR in Delhi. there is no way we can get the closing of FIR through VC although statement can be filed and signed and send it by courier to the advocate to be submitted in the court. but effectively you will be required to appear at least once to get the FIR closed.
