Animal Hit on highway by mistake

The accident took place near Mysore where elephant suddenly came on highway & the vehicle hit it, after few days the forest department complained & the person was took to station, they asked for 1.20Lakh fine but not yet releasing. The person was taken on friday evening & today it's monday. What can be done here as the SI is not coming to station & not giving a clarity on his decision.
Dear Sir,
Please approach local Magistrate Court through advocate and get file application for such warrant under the provisions of criminal procedure code. Police cannot keep anybody inside the police station for more than 24 hours. 2nd option is to approach superintendent of police and lodge complaint.

you can file Habeas Corpus petition before the High Court. otherwise you can contact any lawyer near by you he will help you. police will not detention more than 24 hours they will produce before the magistrate within 24 hours.
