abuse and threat by my cousin to my family

we live in a joint family. last month my cousin after being drunk has abused(shouting) my family.. which is creating unnecessary mental pressure on us. my parents are senior citizens and i dont want them to face any sort of pressure because of him.
we are sure that some day he may even get violent and harm me or my family. what action can i take against him. I have voice recording of it, where it can be clearly heard that how he is abusing and shouting and threating.

we can file a criminal complaint in the police station concerned if he still does not mend his ways we can file an application under section 156(3) for registration of FIR thre recordings are useful and can be used as evidence before police at the time of investigation

Although that will come under the definition of the criminal intimidation which is punishable under section 506 of Indian penal code. so you can file a police complaint on the same. however, since you have mentioned that your parents and senior citizens there is also an appropriate remedy available as an alternative relief under senior citizens act in which the relative will be asked by the SDM Court to vacate the place or maintain the peace and good behaviour and affidavit will be signed by him either by the court and police officer.
