About a blackmail case registered on my mother and me

People from one community have taken money from us and when asked for money they abused us verbally and physically and filed a false case on us and in retaliation we also filed a case against them about the injustice happened to us and police are telling us go for a binding statement what should we do did a binding statement affect a person who is appearing for government exams.

hi if the police had filed false case against you then you could file quash petition in high court to quash the FIR as it is based on all false allegations and that you were not connected to the allegations mentioned in FIR
