7/12 extract forgery by buyer of my land

26-Mar-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I had given power of attorney to my staff to conclude the sale of my land. the buyer was a local and since the sale would not conclude due to a stay order from the DM, the buyer forged the 7/12 extract entirely to depict the desired status and got the deal registered. Not only is the 7/12 extract forged, the officials signature is also if someone who was not in charge. The forged document is part of the conveyance deed and another party (neighbour) who has been affected by this deal given he lost an acre due to this forgery, has identified this and going to file an FIR and possibly writ petition. Do I need to be worried ? And apply for anticipatory bail ?

You have to seek an Anticipatory Bail with immediate effect, if you are anticipating your arrest either under the concerned sections of the IPC, 1860 or any other special act. You have to seek an Anticipatory Bail also if your name is in the FIR or in the Chargesheet or in the Supplementary Chargesheet filed by the Police.

you need to file an anticipatory bail since you have real apprehension of arrest. it is necessary that one also sees the power of attorney which is alleged to be forged to arrive at a definite conclusion and opinion. also it will be necessary if more details are disclosed so that you can be guided further.
