Legal requirement for starting a company in India by a foreign student

I am African and currently studying here in India. My Indian friend had a business idea, we nutured it together and now we want to make it real by registering our company as a Pvt Ltd. My question now is to know if with my student visa i can participate in the creation of the company by investing myselve both financially and intelletually without the risque of loosing everything due to the status of my visa? I would also like to know what would be the proccedure required to get a proper visa. I hope you understand my concerne and look forward for your advices and suggestions.

Yes, you can make investment settiong up a company in India. But you need to comply with certain legal formalities. You can contact your lawyer with relevant documents for the same.

There are provisions for a foreigner to become Director of an Indian company and a company can be incorporated in India. And as you have mentioned you already have an Indian friend you is part of the company so that becomes easy for you because you need an Indian Director as well.
