I have resigned after comitting to serve for an year

16-Jul-2023 (In Corporate Law)
I have made commitment to company that i will serve them for an year in january 2018 over email. But today i have resigned. I have not signed any legal commitment nor any terms and conditions are mentioned over email. I want to know what actions my company can take against me. This commitment was actually on the behalf of my appraisal after completion of year with company

Sir/Madam,
With respect to your query Company can claim claim for breach of contract. Even though Oral contracts are difficult to prove and enforce. With respect to your email if it does not clearly mentions the proposal and acceptance then it may be invalid.

Regards,
Saqib Gigani.

email is an admitted document, Now that you have already resigned wait for company to come up with their grievance and recourse... which may be by way of notice.... if they don't they are not bothered and if they do...your resume will become adverse for sure... start preparing your defence.
