28-Jun-2023 (In Trademark & Copyright Law)
Hi,nnWe are planning to start a company as similar to a company in US.nThey distribute drinking water for free, they profit from the ads displayed on their wrappers.nn1) Does using this same marketing strategy with new brand name and logo will affect my business in the future by that company?n2) If yes, how am i able to avoid this and run this business without any hassle?n3) If no, what is possible to do to run this business?nnThank you.
Using the same marketing strategy (free water distribution funded by ads on wrappers) with a new brand name and logo is typically permissible and shouldn't inherently result in any legal issues. This is because business models are not usually protected by intellectual property law. You must ensure that your company name, brand and logo including the colour layout of the logo must not infringe the IP rights of the US Company.
