Hi lawrato lawyers,
we all take screenshots of memes, photos and videos for our ease and personal , use. I always wonder --
Is taking SCREENSHOTS of copyrighted videos photos, memes, etc., for personal use legal in India provided I am not sharing it to anyone and keep it to myself for further use?
it all depends on what you define as personal use. in case you are sharing these memes or videoes on your own social media feed or using them to promote your brand or yourself then it may not be considered as a personal use. Howwver, if they are strictly used for personal use not to be shared with any third parties then it is legal or used for any educational purpose. Therefore if you can provide some more details they would come handy
