Tuition fee increased by college midway through the course

04-Apr-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Is it legal for a college/university to increase the tution or any other such fees midway through the course? A private college here has done so. They have done so right before the students final exams amounting to what essentially is extortion where the students have been given a deadline to pay the fees within two weeks. Students fear protesting due to the fear of failure.

The collage can't increase the fees in midway unless they have made a provision like some fee should be payable before the exam out of total fee. It is not there then you people can challenge the same in the court

Its a matter of greediness, cheating on the part of institution. Whatever fees has been paid, and whatever they have demanded please give details. After discussion it can be concluded what legal action needs to be taken. Please contact for queries. Thanks

Please file a detailed complaint in University board and also to the state education department with regard to the hiking of fee structure during the middle of the period. Simple protesting the same may lead to some other problem. So better you inform the same in the concerned board.

Apart from that please write the complaint along with the other students. Don't do it alone.
