Regarding refund of fees from an educational institution

Actually we had requested for refund of fees before deadline. Just while filling the bank details for refund, we filled all the details properly but just in place of our bank account number, we got confused and filled the educational institute's bank account number. We understood our mistake within an hour and immediately mailed them. They also accepted our request but when we received refund, they did not gave us the entire refund back and deducted some 30000/- rupees. Now can we ask them for full refund and if they are not willing can we sue them
You have to check the refund policy of the Institute and what reason have they given to cut your money. They must have given some valid reason to deduct the 30,000/- rupees. And if no reason is given then ask for a vaild reason in writing. If they refuse to give a logical answer then we can take a legal action.
