Refusal to Return Original Documents & False Promises

21-Mar-2025 (In Consumer Court Law)
I took admission in IIAEIT Pune in 2009 for B.Tech Aerospace. They promised I would get an education loan, but no bank approved it as the institute wasn’t recognized. I paid ₹50,000 (semester + hostel). They refused to refund and are still holding my original documents illegally. I suffered financial loss and mental harassment. I want to take legal action to get my documents back and claim compensation.

You can file a complaint before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission against the institute for deficiency in service and unfair trade practices. Holding original documents illegally is also a violation of UGC norms. You can claim refund of the amount paid, compensation for mental harassment, and damages for financial loss. You must preserve all admission documents, communications, and receipts to support your case. Even if the matter is old, delay can be condoned if justified.

Send a legal notice to the institute for a refund and document return. File a Consumer Complaint for deficiency in service. If no response, file a police complaint (IPC 406, 420) and a writ in High Court.
