Refund for prepaid clinic packages - clinic closed after fire

I am a customer of a cosmetic dermatology clinic chain in Bangalore with prepaid packages worth over ₹8 lakhs. The clinic shut down in Feb 2026 following a fire and has not reopened or communicated a timeline despite repeated follow-ups over 2 months. The clinic has written confirmation of my 16 pending sessions. No invoices provided. Seeking advice on refund options via consumer forum, legal notice, and bank chargeback given transactions are 6+ months old.

- *Step 1: Send legal notice*: Send a written demand notice to the company’s registered address asking for refund within 15-30 days. Keep proof of delivery. - *Step 2: Gather documents*: - Payment receipts/bank statements for ₹5.6 lakhs - Bills, invoices, treatment package details - Any agreement/consent form you signed - Proof that they closed operations: news articles, email/SMS from them, photos of closed clinic - Copy of legal notice + postal receipt - *Step 3: Draft complaint*: State facts, deficiency of service, unfair trade practice, and relief sought: refund of ₹5.6 lakhs + interest + compensation for mental agony + litigation cost. - *Step 4: File online/offline*: File online portal OR physically at District Forum in Bangalore. Filing fee for ₹5.6 lakh claim
