Query regarding filing an IA in consumer forum
28-Nov-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Hi, I am currently abroad. I have filed a case of medical negligence at NCDRC. Evidence is complete & matter is coming up for directions in 10 days. I have drafted an IA with some additional annexures to be filed & have contextualized the relevant background. My lawyer says an IA filed under affidavit by the advocate cannot have points on 'merits'. Need help to understand, pls share your opinion on the same.
Advocate can file an IA alongwithhis signature even also with your POA.
Additional documents can be taken on record.

Sir, you can appoint your lawyer to be your power of attorney so as to sign the affidavit on your behalf. Have a conversation with a competent advocate and this power of attorney must be only in respect of that particular case.
