Interior Work delayed and Unprofessional
04-Jun-2026 (In Consumer Court Law)
Given our home interior work to one of the interior company and he has taken 80% of the money but he delayed the work and he is very unprofessional and rude talking
If the interior contractor has received nearly 80% of the agreed consideration but has failed to complete the work within the promised timeline, such conduct may constitute deficiency in service and unfair trade practice under consumer law.
Immediately issue a formal legal notice demanding completion of the work within a specified time or refund of the proportionate amount along with compensation for delay and inconvenience. Preserve all agreements, quotations, invoices, payment proofs, photographs, WhatsApp chats and emails.
If the contractor still fails to comply, you may initiate appropriate proceedings before the Consumer Commission seeking refund, compensation and other consequential reliefs available under law.
You appear to have a valid consumer dispute. If the interior contractor has taken 80% of the payment but is delaying the work without justification, you may issue a legal notice demanding completion of the work or refund of the amount paid. In case of non-compliance, a complaint can be filed before the Consumer Commission for refund, compensation, and costs for deficiency in service. Please consult a local advocate with all relevant documents and payment proofs
