Q: UPSC service appointment while having an FIR

If a fir was filed on a person,later the police filed the final report stating that case as false case.then will the person eligible for appointment of service under upsc.

Yes. Mere registration of an FIR does not automatically disqualify a person from appointment through UPSC, particularly where the police have filed a final report/closure report stating that the case is false. However, appointment is subject to verification of character and antecedents and the applicable UPSC/service rules. Any question in the attestation form regarding FIRs, criminal cases or arrests must be answered truthfully. Suppression of such information can itself lead to cancellation of candidature or termination. The Supreme Court in Avtar Singh v. Union of India, (2016) 8 SCC 471, laid down the relevant principles.

Q: Paid amount to event manager for wedding but not Refunding the amount

Booked a wedding planner and paid ₹5L for engagement + ₹10L wedding advance. Due to family issues, both were cancelled. Engagement was cancelled 1 week before; wedding was cancelled >3 months before the date. Company initially said they’d try for a full refund for wedding advance amout 10 Lakhs but now ignores us. We emailed the company and provided all details requested, but no response. Can we legally recover the ₹10L/₹15L? What action should we take?

Please share the agreement, payment receipts, cancellation/refund terms and correspondence. The refund claim depends on the contractual terms, cancellation policy and whether any amount was actually forfeited.

You can apply for correction of the date of birth in your Memos/educational records. The procedure depends on the examining authority and the supporting documents available, such as your birth certificate, school records, or Aadhaar. You may need to submit a correction application with the required documents.

Q: Non payment of incentive mentioned under contract.

My acceptance of offer letter as a consultant is based on 50% incentive over 1.5 lakhs , which is minimum guarantee salary. I have resigned due to disputes , and now ceo is refusing to pay the incentive brushing it off as clerical error.

If the incentive was expressly agreed in the offer letter, the employer may be contractually bound to pay it. A unilateral claim of “clerical error” may not defeat an agreed term. Review the offer letter and related communications.

Q: Infant custody by father in case of wife denying to come back to husba

If wife is not ready to come back to husband after 6 months of delivery, can husband file for child custody?

It is advisable to first issue a legal notice requesting the wife to resume cohabitation and permitting reasonable access to the child. If she refuses, the father may approach the Family Court for appropriate custody/visitation relief.
