On 17 Jan 2025, Yash Jain and Sailee Shah visited the Maison PVR in Mumbai, where they had booked two tickets for a movie show and ordered a vegetarian dum biryani. However, they were shocked to find a non-vegetarian chicken dum biryani served on their seat. As a Jain, they have strict religious beliefs against consuming non-vegetarian food. They can file a consumer complaint under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, for deficiency in service and mental distress, seeking a refund and compensation. Additionally, under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, they can report misbranding and negligence to the local Food Safety Officer (FSO).
