Consumer case against scooter compnay bu i do not own the scooter
17-Feb-2026 (In Consumer Court Law)
I am using an e-scooter that was bought by my friend and registered with the RTO in his name.
Since I am the one using the scooter, can I file a case against 2 wheeler company as a consumer?
As long as you are using the scooter for personal use and not for resale or commercial purposes (like a delivery business), you maintain your status as a consumer under the law.Â
Indian courts, including the Supreme Court, have consistently held that a beneficiary or user of a product or service—who may not be the direct party to the contract—can still seek redressal for defects or deficiencies.
