21-Nov-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)

I buyed a laptop from an e-commerce website. In site the price was quoted 42k but after giving discount of 12% it was given 40k so I buyed that but when the product arrived then I found that 40k was its mrp as printed on box and later found that other website sold it for 39k that same time.I tried to enquiry about it with customer care but they said that was the market price at time of my purchase but that was a lie.Can I sue that website for misrepresentation?

Yes you may file a complaint before the consumer court. You may allege deficiency in service and unfair trade practices on the part of the e-commerce website. Based on the amounts claimed, your case is mostly likely to be made out before the district or state consumer forums.

First, issue a legal notice to them setting out the deficiency in service and unfair trade practice on their part and further intimating them that you would be approaching the consumer courts if they do not reimburse you.
