Being student can't afford litigation charges
01-Mar-2025 (In Consumer Court Law)
I am seeking legal advice regarding an incident at Maison PVR, Jio World Drive, Mumbai, on January 17, 2025. My friend and I ordered vegetarian dum biryani for a movie but were mistakenly served non-vegetarian food, which I unknowingly consumed. As a Jain, this deeply violated my religious beliefs, leaving us distressed. Although we reported this to PVR, their compensation of ten movie tickets does not suffice, and our request for a ban on non-veg items or a change in packaging was ignored.
You can approach the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum and claim monetary compensation for serving non-veg items in place of your veg order. Banning non-veg items or change in packaging is not under jurisdiction of Consumer forums. Alternatively you can pray for precautions to avoid such kind of incidents in the future.
