Withdrawal of Civil Suit by the Plaintiff at District Court Level

15-Oct-2023 (In Civil Law)
What is the procedure to withdraw a civil suit? Does the plaintiff need to be physically present in court to withdraw the case, or can a letter/statement signed by the plaintiff submitted by another person be sufficient [given that it is difficult to travel under Covid situation] ?

Hello, I have perused your query.
In these circumstances, the person representing you can withdraw the case on your behalf.
It also depends upon the stage of matter on which its pending.

In case you can't visit the court due to covid you may authorize your lawyer to make a statement in the court before the concerned judge and withdraw the civil suit. You lawyer may make a statement and can file an appropriate application aswell.
