Even if the DV case is withdrawn, the wife has the right to reside in the shared household under Section 17 of the Domestic Violence Act. Is property registered in father’s name? Then wife cannot do anything. Why is husband paying maintenance? Is wife educated and can get job? Even otherwise, she can work as domestic maid in 3 to 4 houses and make money. Looks like no children.. right?
