wife got Compassionate appointment she died can anyone else get job

26-Jun-2023 (In Civil Law)
In a family the husband who was a Group-D in Department of Posts, India died while in service. His wife claimed compassionate appointment and the Department has appointed the wife under compassionate ground. Subsequently the wife also has died while in service. Now the question is whether any of the remaining dependent members of the said family is entitled for compassionate appointment if having requisite qualification and fulfilling the financial criteria etc.

Certainly a dependent of employee can get service on compassionate ground to meet the family expenses in case of death of an employee. In your case, since wife already on compassionate basis, and other dependents include children or siblings of the original employee can apply, if they have no independent source of income and were dependent on the earnings of the deceased employee, subject to rules and regulation of the concerned department, if approached within reasonable period.
