To file PIL | Airport Authority of India's Amausi Airport Expansion

18-Oct-2023 (In Civil Law)
I want to file a PIL questioning the planned expansion of Amausi Airport which includes construction of new Terminal 3, Expansion of current Runway from 2.1 KM to 3+ KM and increasing the air traffic to up to 4 times from current 60-70 flights per day to upto 250 flights per day. There are thousands of students enrolled in several educational institutes such as Dr. B.R Ambedkar University, Aryavrat College, Millenium school, Delhi Public School, Lucknow Public School which are located near Airport. Increasing the number of flights from 75 per day to approximately 250 per day is bound to increase noise pollution at these institutes and create a negatively impact on a daily basis. There are thousands of residents living in areas such as South City, Omaxe City, Eldeco and several other residential places located near Airport. Increasing the number of flights from 75 per day to ~250 per day is bound to increase noise pollution at these areas & deteriorate the quality of life.

On the above-mentioned query in my opinion this is a question for noise or ais pollution which is disturbing the Heath issue for the common people residing in the particular area. But it is very humbly and respectfully that before the government announced the plan for expansion of the airport terminal , the government authorities viewed all kinds of circumstances for the general public. And I think the PIL against the airport authority or the government of Uttar Pradesh or government of India is not admissible by the high court of allahabad or it's bench at Lucknow. But it is your independent thaught so please work on this and file a PIL against the same.

You can take a chance and question the expansion of Amausi Airport, but I doubt the Court will interfere. What you are saying is right, but the balance of convenience lies in the expansion of the Airport since the said aspect is directly related to the economic growth of the capital city and the State. Even if you intend to take up this issue seriously, please do a robust homework and try to find out loopholes/lapses on the part of AAI in procuring licenses/clearances from all the concerned Authorities/State holders.
