rti to police for giving copy of complaint by my father against my bro

sir My faher has been missing since 2017 for which FIR was lodged .My younger brother used to beat physically to my father for grabbing property against which my father has made various complaint to police but police always help brother and rebuke father and forced to compromise as brother has criminal record and setting with police. I filed rti to police for seeking copy of all complaints from time to time by my father against my brother and what action has has been taken by police but police refused to provide same on the pretext that rti can be filed by my father or my brother only but not myself. Please advice is police saying right or befooling me. In case if police is right then please let me know how to fix this issue.

You can rightly claim the complaint filed by your father if the police is making excuses then you may file the appeal before the competent authority. In case of any kind of grievance you can complain to State RTI Commission.

any body can file RTI. No one can stop you except the fact that you know what to seek and where to file RTI. Police helping a criminal shows its connivance. i have handled enough of such cases and certainly the law is in your favour. feel free to contact.
