Polling Duty for Government Official

I am a Government Employee (Group A) and I have been assigned Election Duty. But, I do not have Valid Voter ID as I have lost the same recently. I have applied for reissue but that is still pending and as a result my name is not in Voter list. As far as my knowledge goes - for election duty one has to be an elector.
What should I do? Is there any legal course of action possible?
if you do not have a voter card presently, upon loosing it, i am sure you have general diary copy as well as the copy of the fresh application made for obtaining the duplicate copy, keep them with you which shall protect you and keep your aadhar card with you

Inform the issue to your superior officer immediately with copy of the application which you have made to obtain the voter ID. Ask for your release from Election Duty or may consider as a Special Case.
