Police taken into custody by police, how to obtain it back

Sir my friend took my bike to himachal Pradesh ,near Kangra police caught him insurance has expired, RC is in finance .he consult the advate in Kangra and given all details which is photo copies and 2 months over .when ever he is calling .advocate is saying that court not declare the date.what is this is their another way to take my bike .or just forget the bike for Indian laws please answer my question
First of all obtain the copy of challan from the police under which offences they had impounded your bike , after that ask your lawyer under which section they had filed application and for what relief . more over dn't get panic indian laws are not like arabian countries . have patience and awareness and if you think police or lawyer is doing wrong you can directly send letter in this concern of meet the concerned judicial magistrate after obtaining his due permission .

You can file application seeking for release vehicle u/s 451 cr.p.c before court for that you should know FIR No. (if any )date when police taken into custody Ur bike and in which police station. My advice contact with Ur advocate if he will not do anything consultant to another advocate otherwise complaint to concern judicial magistrate about such facts. Query with the staff of judicial magistrate.
