We own a garage as well. During this pandemic the owners of the houses decided to repair the terrace to avoid leakage in the rains in which we could not participate due to huge amount of loss in business(fire issue) we immediately informed the secretary of building of the same stating that as of now it if difficult but we will clear the maintaince at the earliest. Two-Three days later, My mother requested the worker to not put things in front of our garage as we had to put in some stuff on the weekend.(from the window). The neighbour below us started yelling that keep it there itself. And then when my sister went down they made personal remarks against her personal life and physical appearance. Remarks as below 1. You are fat 2. You are Nalayak as u married to particular religion 3. Words like chor

Sorry to know about your situation. You should try to amicably solve the problem by having a meeting with the residents of the building. Yes, personal remarks in public amounts to an offence and if you wish you may report it to the police or file a private complaint before magistrate.

Well, if your Neighbor has insulted your Sister in front of other Neighbors, then you can file a Defamation Case against that Neighbor who insulted your Sister and as such, can seek a heavy compensation
