Neighbors cutting the tree we share, can they legally do that

Sir there is a neem tree between our house and our neighbor.... They are trying to cut it... Is cutting tree in town in legal?? Also tell me how to stop that activity...??
Sir, At first in whose land it comes not aware. However, if it comes under both of your right, you may abject it to the local revenue administrative officer. If the tree is distrubing the public, then your neighbours with the pre permission of revenue authorities may cut it down.
