03-Jan-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi, Myself Yasin, I am from Andhra Pradesh, Staying and working in Bangalore, i want to marry a girl of Bhubaneswar, Orrisa , she is working with me in Bangalore and we've known to each other very well, Problem is that her parents don't want her daughter to marry a Muslim guy, they are nice people and from my end my parents don't have any issue. What can i do legally to get marry? i don't want any trouble in future from the girl parent's end. kindly suggest me how can i proceed legally.
Hi Yasin, with regard to your query let me explain the legal rights you have.
You are free to marry any girl from any religion or community if there is full consent of the girl to marry you. I suggest you to get a court marriage. Though the girl parents may object for the marriage but legally they do not have any right to avoid or cancel this marriage performance as their objection on the basis of religion is not considered valid or legal. Hope you both are major (boy-21 and girl-18) with respect to age for consideration of the marriage. Please let me know if you need any help as I can get your court marriage processed.

You can get married under the special marriage act where the documents required are age proof, address proof , photos and 3 witnesses, it will take 1 month and if both are ready being adults can get married and no body can stop you.
you have many options , Hindu rites , arya samaaja rites or registered marriages. it is a requirement that you both have I'd proof and Bangalores residence proof. you have not informed if both of you are keeping your own religions and are not converting.
