Noise pollution can be curbed in more than one ways. First, you should send the owner of the factory a legal notice through your advocate and warn him about the ensuing legal action. Thereafter, you need to inquire if the factory is working on an industrial plot or not? You can also file a FIR in the nearest police station and you can also file a writ petition in the High Court. The Pollution Control Board is the nodal agency that is obligated to take action against all forms of pollution.

As per the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 the ambient noise standards for residential areas is 45 db (A) at night time (10pm to 6am). If these standards are exceeded by 10 dB (A) or more given in any area/zone or, if there is a violation of any provision of these rules regarding restrictions imposed during night time, make a complaint to the authority i.e., the District Magistrate, Police Commissioner, or any other officer not below the rank of the Deputy Superintendent of Police.
