How to determine the OBC status of a person?

sir my father is a central govt employee,he is working in food corporation of india designated as the post handling labour,.his annual salary is 10+ lakh ,i am very confused about my obc status,some ppl saying u belongs from obc ncl bcoz ur father falls under group d post,some saying u come under obc cl bcoz ur father annual income is 10+ lakh. i have no other source of income,my mother is a housewife.............sir pls tell me whether i belongs from obc ncl or cl............eagerly waiting for ur answer sir,i want to fill a bank form ,its last date 14 aug...so pls ans as soon as possible,i will be thanksful to u for this.............

Do not worry at all..it father is a government employee if I m not mistaken. What happens in nc obc...that the income from government job is not taken into consideration. So you are quite eligible for the obc category irrespective of your father's government income.

Supreme Court decision in Mandal Commission Case craved out system for reservation for economic backward class which is known as Creamy layer. Those who fall under Creamy Layer will not get reservation. Pursuant to Supreme Court's decision Central Government came with notification annual income is defined for reservation. At present required annual income for availing reservation is below 4.5 lac.
