Hi
If the property falls within red line of village then there is no record of that property for updating ownership and the person in possession presumed to be the owner. If land is comprising in khasra number i.e. land recorded in the record maintained by patwari, then you have to move the application to tehsildar for sanctioning of mutation along with death certificate of your grandfather. If it is speaking in record of municipal council then move the similar application to E.O.

You can file the application before the Tehsildar along with death certificate of your father and if the property is with your grandfather then his death certificate along with photocopy of I'd proofs sanctioning mutation in favour of the LRs

Hi, I suppose you must produce a death certificate to the patwari and get a jamabandi sanctioned from the concerned authority on the name of the legal heir jointly or single however you want.
Then you should get a family settlement regtd. Regarding the property and share of each coparcener.
