Sir or Mam, it is not that we should not file it party in person, but filing with the help of an Advocate will be an easier process and it will be time efficient as well. so it is advisable to engage an Advocate for representation of your case. similarly if at all you want to file the Writ Petition by yourself file it physically it will be easy for you to track and follow up the case.

Yes. A party-in-person can file a Writ Petition before the Madras High Court through e-filing — it is not restricted to physical/offline filing. but, it's advisable to file it through an advocate/ advocate clerk inorder to proper followup and numbering it

Yes, a writ petition can be filed before the Madras High Court through the e-filing system, subject to the High Court's prevailing e-filing rules and eligibility for party-in-person filings. If you are appearing as a party-in-person, you may register on the e-filing portal, upload the petition and supporting documents, and comply with the prescribed format, court fee, affidavit, and other procedural requirements. However, certain categories of cases or defects may require physical verification or appearance before the Party-in-Person Cell/Registry. It is advisable to verify the latest practice directions of the Madras High Court Registry before filing. If e-filing is not permitted in your specific case, the Registry will guide you regarding physical presentation of the petition.
