Delay in case after receiving case number

We had filed a petition through a lawyer who is fighting our case on 8th August (petition number available). After which the case was filed and the matter was before the bench. But from that day onwards till date our lawyer is saying that the judge of the bench is not available. I would like to understand the exact implication of this and an alternate solution. As we are really not able to move ahead.
You can cross check with the website Details of court database. Judges do go on leave and being a holiday season there are chances that the Judge might have taken leave. On the first hearing in August you might have got date after two months and now as the Judge might be on leave your lawyer is giving the above mentioned reason.
