Degree from a state university is found un-recognised how to sue them

I have completed my ma hindi from a state university, in 2008 .but recently that is before 1 month i came to know that the degree what i got was not recognized by university grants commission ( ugc ). therefore my degree has no recognition..so i am not getting any job. my question is ---- 1) can i file a case against the university after 9 years. 2) can i ask for compensation.from the university or the state governement?

Yes u have the right to sue the university since u it came to your knowledge and from there cause of actiion arise so u can file case damages and sue them and also u can claim compensation from them and it will be done where u were cheated.
